These costs do not include emergencies, cost of blankets, feed tubs, water buckets, water troughs or staff time. Those costs can add up to thousands per month depending on the horse and their medical needs. Most sanctuary horses have special medical needs. In the last five months of 2023, veterinarian costs for our sanctuary horses totaled $12,795.
